Jayme Proctorstein, a 1999 graduate of Aleph Bet Jewish Day School, is one of a select group of high school seniors to earn the Banneker/Key Scholarship to the University of Maryland.
She has been accepted to the Honors Program at the University, and is among only 105 students of out of all freshman admitted to be selected for next year's scholarship.
The Banneker/Key is the most prestigious scholarship awarded by the University; it covers full tuition, room and board, and a book allowance for four years.
In addition, this scholarship will give Jayme the opportunity to participate in the President's Colloquium, a forum that brings together merit scholars and members of the faculty to
discuss current issues. A letter signed by the President of U of MD extended congratulations on Jayme's excellent academic record and accomplishments---"her
extraordinary achievements among an extremely talented group of students."
